We met in the summer of 2007 and in the five years since not a day has gone by that I haven't thanked God for your friendship and the fun you have brought to my life.
Becky and Sam, 2007
I will never forget the first time you invited the Trouble Brothers and I over to your house for a pool party play date. I told you that I didn't think it would be a good idea. Sam was four and Noah was barely two and their autism made it very difficult for us to visit new environments. You told me we'd never know one way or another if we didn't try. Then I warned you that my kids would most likely ransack your house. You shrugged your shoulders and said, "So?"
The pool party lasted all day and the boys had the most wonderful time swimming with your kids, Adam and Katie and late that afternoon as I drove away from your house I knew I had found my best friend.
Adam and Katie
In 2008 my marriage to the boys' dad was ending and you spent every day helping me prepare our house for sale by painting walls, running errands to Home Depot, and helping me laugh when some days all I wanted to do was cry because I was so scared I'd never make it on my own.
In early 2008 I met Mike and you spent hours convincing me that he wasn't "just a nice guy" and that he liked me and you were right.
You're the one I can count on to tell me if something I'm wearing makes my ass look bigger than it should. You are also the one who tells it to me like it is when I'm coddling the boys too much and not helping them to become more independent. I believe Sam would still be in diapers today if it weren't for you.
You are one of the very best people in my life, Becky.
You get me.
Love you,
Sunday~
