1. I brush my teeth with my eyes closed.
I don't quite know when this started but I just recently realized I was always doing it. Its like a little mental siesta for those 2 minutes twice a day when my Sonicare toothbrush gives my teeth a friendly massage.
2. I despise anything made with sesame oil.
My older sister is to blame for this. When she was in high school she and my mom decided to try their hand at making home-made egg rolls during the middle of the summer when it was 109 degrees out and our AC was busted. I vividly remember the ocular meltdown caused by both steamed cabbage and burning sesame oil. Ughhhh.
3. I make the world's best chocolate chip cookies
Okay, if you live in Maryland and attend my church or have ever worked with me you know this little fact about me already. I have had many many people urge me to sell them in local bakeries and coffee shops. You know...in all my spare time.
4. My ex-husband is the one who got me into blogging.
Truth be told the boy's dad used to drive me batty when he would spend hours typing away on the weekends while I did the typical wife and mom stuff around the house. Then, after we separated and divorced he recommended blogging to me as a way of sharing my thoughts on raising kids with autism and I am certainly glad he did. After starting my blog I realized how therapeutic and fun it could be to connect with others in the blogosphere.
5. I am such a country mouse
I don't really like big cities. I have lived in Maryland for over 11 years and I have never made the 3 hour trip north to New York City. Not because I can't afford it or because I can't get any time away. But, because I really don't think I will enjoy it. I think I will be a walking panic attack with all those bustling crowds, taxi cars, and horns honking.
I prefer the open plains...or more likely, the mountains of Colorado. I lived there for 7 years when I was in middle and high school and loved it. We lived in Estes Park which was more than 45 minutes from the nearest Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Home Depot, or any other large chain store. It was quiet in the winter and filled with tourists in the summer but it was still a small town life. I miss it. A lot.
6. I think all dentists, or rather, dental work is of the devil.
I understand that dentists are people too and its too harsh of me to call them as people 'of the devil' but the work they do...that is another story. I HATE going to the dentist. I haven't been in over 3 years. Because I HATE IT!
I am sure the reasoning for my hatred is due to my early years when I had over 12 teeth pulled, my tonsils removed, and braces put on in a period of 6 months. I was 8 years old. It hurt. I am sure there were very good medical reasons why this all had to be done. I don't care. It hurt. And every time I sit in that dental chair I relive those 6 months in vivid detail.
7. Thanks Sweetie!
I was having a hard time thinking of a 7th unknown fact about me and mentioned it to my husband and he looked at me totally non-chalantly and said, "Thats easy, You're good in bed.". So, for the sake of my readers I will not regale you with the reasoning behind this. Just take my hubby's word for it. I rock his world.
UPDATE: Thanks to Simply Valorie for pointing out I totally forgot the second part of the award which is to pass it on to 7 other bloggers. So here they are in no particular order. Cause I don't play favorites...except for money, that is.
