Just a little.
A tad.
I won a great crock pot cookbook today! How in the world did you do that you must be asking? It was actually the easiest contest I have ever entered.
And won!
My bloggy-friend Shelley has an amazing God-given talent for taking natural light photographs in the beautiful state of Washington. You can see what I mean by visiting her website here. I first began reading Shelley's blog in 2007 when she did the engagement and wedding photos for a friend of mine from grade school. I was instantly struck by Shelley's wit, infectious smile, her love for God, and her camera.
Which, I covet with all my being.
But, a camera does not a photographer make. Just take a look at her photos and you will see what I mean.
Anyway....
Shelley's blog is one of the funniest I read on a daily basis. She has quite a way with words and always makes me laugh. She is an amazing mom and wife and I think is MUCH more aptly deserving of the title 'Domestic Superhero'. Afterall, she buys organic! She makes her son's baby food (also organic), She is an amazing cook and baker (not that I have tasted her food, but the photos sure have me convinced!), and last but not least she even raises chickens in this hilarious contraption called an Eglu. Seriously. I may have to don her with a 'Domestic Superhero' award of some type.
Maybe I will.
Anyway...
Today I won something from Shelley. I won this awesome book!

She was having a contest where her blog readers could share their favorite crock pot recipe and she would randomly pick 2 people to win a copy of this book.
One of them was me!
WOOHOO!
I love my crockpot. My crockpot, in turn, happens to love McCormick crock pot seasoning packets. My two favorites so far are McCormick Pulled Pork and McCormick Beef Stroganoff. These two recipes are so easy it will make you cry. It will give you back that hour before dinner when you are struggling to throw together anything that is marginally nutritious and even less tasty. You literally throw the ingredients (most have less than 5) into your crock pot, set the temp to low or high depending on how much time you have, and that is it! Instant yummy, HOT, dinner that will feed at least 4-5 people. Best part is most of the recipe packets will easily double and still fit in a good sized crock pot. Then you can have lots of tasty leftovers. Trust me....you won't mind these leftovers!
So, I will look forward to stalking my mailman for my new cookbook that is on its way to my doorstep. I'll be sure to try a lot of the recipes out and let you know what I think.
Maybe I'll even make something for Shelley and ship it cross country to her doorstep in Washington.
